DENSO treated 12 customers with a trip to its Poirino factory recently to experience the manufacturing processes of its thermal products.

Since acquiring full ownership in 2001, DENSO has extensively developed the factories facilities, establishing production of a series of OE-standard components which have placed the aftermarket specialist at the forefront of the automotive thermal market.

Guests were given an insight into DENSO’s operations, touring R&D laboratories and wind tunnels, before observing the automatic parking facility, featuring an impressive vertical stage warehouse with automated sorting and packing systems.

The factory is located at the heart of DENSO’s thermal Headquarters in Poirino, near Turin, covering an area of 118,500 square metres. Specialising in thermal products, factory staff manufacture and assemble several components including heating, ventilation and air conditioning units, as well as engine cooling modules.

Following the factory visit, customers enjoyed a walking tour of Turin, before visiting the Allianz Stadium, the Mole Antonelliana, the Lingotto rooftop track and the National Automobile Museum.

Fatiha Laauich, Marketing Communications Manager at DENSO Automotive UK, said: “Giving our customers an insight into the operation behind DENSO’s products is a good opportunity. The Thermal Systems factory offers a variety of modern facilities, nurturing an appreciation of the meticulous process needed to produce OE-standard components.

“Besides gaining an in-depth understanding of DENSO’s production processes, guests were also able to enjoy the local culture and visited local landmarks.”

Dave Sanfey, Electro Maintenance, said: “It was really enjoyable and very much appreciated. From start to finish all was very excellent and really well organised. Denso hospitality again was five-star.”
